Company Overview
Johnson Controls International (JCI) is a global leader that has spearheaded the building technologies sector for 140 years, beginning in 1885 with the invention of the world’s first electric room thermostat.
Leveraging a comprehensive portfolio that spans heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), building controls, fire protection, and security systems, the company plays a critical role in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of buildings worldwide. Recently, JCI decided to divest its relatively low-margin residential and light commercial businesses, making a strategic move to redirect the capital and capabilities freed up toward the more profitable commercial and industrial markets. This is aimed at strengthening its position as a key infrastructure partner for future growth industries such as data centers, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing facilities.
Today, JCI is accelerating its evolution beyond a simple hardware manufacturer into an integrated solutions provider that enables autonomous building operations and energy optimization through its digital platform OpenBlue, which brings together AI and IoT technologies.
