2025 AWARE Seminar Information

Because I dislike the so‑called “lecture hustlers.” On platforms like Wadiz, there are people selling courses priced in the hundreds of thousands to millions of won, claiming you can earn 10 million won a month through an online store or stocks. How many of them actually make money from their “real business”?

For most of them, the money they make from selling courses is far greater than what they earn from their main line of work. I never wanted to end up in that kind of contradictory situation. AWARE was founded to correct the absurd reality in which people who beat their own drum on YouTube or lecture platforms are the ones making the loudest noise in the market (noise in the purest sense of the word).

“Midwit” is a meme based on the IQ distribution diagram. In a chart that places three groups side by side, it satirizes the average‑intelligence group, which makes up the largest share of people. Citing the Horseshoe Theory, it assumes that people with low and high intelligence end up pursuing the same goals for different reasons, and calls those in the middle “midwits.” The meme mocks midwits as those who act like the smartest people in the room, yet ultimately fail to deliver real results.

There’s a saying in Korean that roughly means, “It doesn’t matter how you get there, as long as you end up in Seoul.” Investing is ultimately about generating returns. Just as there are many different professions in the world, there are many ways to make money through investing, so I’m not interested in declaring any one specific investment methodology absolutely right or wrong. Even so, my view that most of the media and content investors are exposed to is much closer to “noise” than “signal” has not changed, even three and a half years after founding AWARE.

In this seminar, we plan to share how AWARE distinguishes what we believe are the most important signals from noise in investing, and to have an honest Q&A session where we address the questions you bring with you. Accordingly, we are capping attendance at 35 people.

We will not be putting together any useless PowerPoint deck like “2025 Grand Economic Outlook.” If that’s what you’re expecting, this seminar is not a good fit. You can refer instead to YouTube interviews or columns by well‑known macroeconomic scholars.
